4iP Council recently launched a new, practical '4SMEs' website area to help innovative businesses draw economic and strategic value from IP. The area:

•    explains and compares different types of IP,
•    points to the different routes for registering IP,
•    communicates the strategic impacts of IP and
•    educates stakeholders on decision pathways for leveraging IP effectively.

The section provides a broad range of useful resources which outline and link to contacts, data points, case studies, quotes and examples, and will be further enriched and expanded over time.

The set of material made includes for instance an interactive chart guiding stakeholders on the different IP choices and pathways for registration, a guide on the benefits of patenting (to which the European IP Helpdesk contributed too) as well as interviews and testimonials with entrepreneurs, SMEs and funding organisations and advisors present in the SME ecosystem.
