Symposium on patenting Internet of Things (IoT) technologies: On 6 November 2019, the Bavarian knowledge transfer network "Bayern Innovativ", together with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), will host a symposium targeting CEOs, R&D manager, patent and IP managers as well as business development experts interested in learning more on patenting IoT technologies. The symposium will be held in German.
As digitisation is picking up speed, topics like Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things and Big Data are affecting developments in medical technology, new materials, autonomous driving and other industries. Besides technological and sociological questions, this increasingly touches upon patent-related matters.
The symposium, which will take place in Munich, will discuss basic principles and applications through practical examples.
The following questions will be included:
- How can IoT technology be protected? (e.g. algorithms, software programmes)
- Are IoT-generated results protectable? (e.g. new diagnostic techniques, prediction methods, prevention strategies)
- Who is the inventor and who is patent owner? (e.g. the user, the investor, an e-person)
